HUJAN by TERE LIYE
Genre : Dystopian-Romance

#Hujan is about being grateful, embracing yourself, and letting go whenever life knocks you down.

The story sets in a futuristic world whereby a modern medical device is used in a memory modification therapy that could determine and control the memories we have which are separated by colors; red(bad), blue(good), green(neutral). The story begins when a nurse named Lail attends a psychotherapy session with Dr. Elijah with a purpose of erasing her painful memories in order to find a peace after badly suffering from her past.Throughout the session,we could see how did these memories emotionally affect and ruin her happiness during her teenage years. She's battling with the upsurge of emotion for so long until she didnt realize that was hurting herself and killing her inside.

Lail was thirteen back then when she's late for school with her mum and then suddenly the whole world experienced a massive catastrophic earthquake due to a supervolcanic eruption which consequently cause major damages and death in the city including her mum.In fact,it was the day Soke Bahtera known as Esok met Lail and managed to save and protect her from the tragedy.Their relationship is heart-warming as they started taking care of each other, playing around in the city, and doing things together.Fate had separated them apart as they grew up in order to chase their dreams and education.Things were getting tougher as they only got a chance to meet once a year despite a busy schedule.Years went by,Lail doubted her love towards Esok as he always didnt manage to take care of her feelings  until she made a decision to forget all about him and this is so overwhelming after all the hardships they've been enduring together😭So much intense at few last pages fuh

Although it takes place in near future, the story feels realistic as the way #tereliye describes the technology and devices, the settings and buildings, while at the same time playing with our emotions is incredibly good! It feels surreal i bawled my eyes out in the beginning, however there are too many repetitive scenes in the middle that turned me off but still a decent read😊
